Rudder Blade

Rudder Blade
 clear cedar boards, 1-11/16" x 2-3/4" x 54"
epoxy glued with alternating cross grain
 before assembly, each board was tapered from waterline to tip,
every board has different taper based on the plan tapered foil section,
when assembled they form the approximate foil section shape,
this reduces the amount of material to be removed by planing 
 end view from aft
 aft perspective
 fully assembled
 assembled and the perimeter is trimmed
 aft view, ready for planing and sanding
forward view ready for planing

  1. Are you going to put an oak leading edge on? Or will carbon/fibreglass be sufficient?
