Port side de-stapled

 staples - be gone!

the bow area will be covered with oak veneer
which has a side hardness over 4 times that of cedar
- should help to minimize dents from flotsam

the bilge area will be covered with narrow 1.5" veneers
which can bend around the double curvature

a 12" wide strip along the keel will be covered with oak veneer
for better dent resistance when trailering / beaching

Port side wide veneers done

wide veneers from gunnel to waterline +/-
on port side

 some staples removed

approx 800 strapping pads used for the port side,
to prevent staples from penetrating too far,
and to assist in staple removal

some pads have several staples for more holding power,
so about 1000 staples to remove from the wide veneers on port side
